The 2012 Liar’s Poker Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from select vineyards in the highly acclaimed Napa Valley. This wine is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon peppered with Merlot and Petite Verdot to round out the blend. Winemaker, Steve Matthiasson, is one of the most highly acclaimed winemakers in his generation, nominated for a James Beard award for excellence in winemaking three years in a row. Steve hand selected vineyard sites throughout the Napa Valley for this exclusive blend. The grapes were harvested with a wonderful level of freshness, vividly preserved flavors and aged in the finest new oak barrels. This is our rarest and most exclusive wine. 2012 was hailed as a perfect growing season in the Napa Valley and a very highly praised vintage.

Tasting Notes

The palate has fantastic elegance and depth, revealing loads of subtle floral, black fruit and earthy layers. This wine is elegant and complex with a supple, creamy texture and bold tannins, the 2012 vintage offers luscious ripe plum and blackberry character with hints of roasted coffee and dark cherry throughout the palate to a long, velvety finish. Lovely density and intensity with dark berries, blueberries and inky undertones with hints of spice, chocolate and walnuts. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a flavorful finish. The texture and length are fantastic here. Complex. Hints of smoky wood at the end. 100% new French oak barrels.
